I had the opportunity to play on Kate Gaffney's second album "The New Then". Great tunes in a folk rock vein. The album is available on CD Baby or visit Kate's website.
"The New Then is a full length album. Gaffney defines The New Then as “the music of today that is firmly rooted in the music of the classic rock era.
It is a sound that crosses many genres and appeals to a diverse audience.” This album is a collection of songs, some written in California, some upon Gaffney’s return to Philadelphia and others on the roads between the coasts.
Many of these were originally songs of Just Kate that took on new life when brought to the band setting. All of these songs have special meaning to Gaffney as an artist and believer in the positive powers of music."
I co-produced Lili Anel's third CD "Dream Again". It was a great experience to play, arrange, record, engineer and mix the CD. We were fortunate enough to have the CD reviewed in "Jazz Times" the preminent jazz magazine. The album is available on CD Baby or visit Lili's website.
" 'Dream Again' (Wall-I Records/Quarry Hill Studios) Lili's third and most recent recording was released January 2007. “Dream Again” marks Ms. Añel’s first recording as co-producer. She is joined by her bassist, Cooke Harvey as the other half of this creative effort. Mr. Harvey’s impeccable bass stylings and arrangements make this joint effort the perfect collaboration. The CD showcases various sides of her songwriting and arranging, with sonic textures in different configurations, strings, to solo bass, guitar and voice as well as enlisting the expert playing of Dave Bozenhard on guitars and John DiGiovanni on drums and percussion as rhythm section (appropriately named “The Dream Again Band”), stretching jazz, pop, r&b and alternative boundaries."
